The craziness surrounding the Knicks organization continues following Charles Oakley's outburst at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
It was reported Friday that the Knicks legend was banned from MSG after being ejected during Wednesday's game and then arrested soon after. Team owner James Dolan called for Oakley's ban. During an interview on the Michael Kay Show on Friday, Dolan was quick to make accusations and showed no support for the former player. "He has a problem with anger," Dolan said. "He's both physically and verbally abusive. He may have a problem with alcohol. We don't know. But those behaviors of being physically and verbally abusive, those are personality problems." The team had released two statements following the incident but they were just to throw Oakley under the bus. The organization seemed to jump to conclusions without getting the former player's point of view. Oakley said afterward that he had "a couple drinks" but before entering the Garden. When asked if the Knicks should be embarrassed for what has happened in the last 48 hours, Dolan responded: "I would say that Charles should be embarrassed." For the sake of the team and its reputation, let's hope that this all gets resolved soon.

as a new york giants fan, the new england patriots and tom brady are 2 things i have absolutely no interest in. as tough as it was for me to admit... (i might have said the game was staged) ... the patriots pulled off the best super bowl victory in history.
i was in full support of the atlanta falcons since they beat the packers in the NFC championship. they gained lots of support from other fan bases, matt ryan won league MVP and the team seemed ready for their first-ever super bowl appearance. as the game got closer, it was sounding like almost too many people were favoring the falcons. i love rooting for the underdog but i didn't want to see them under pressure or be jinxed. it would have been great to see history with atlanta getting their 1st super bowl trophy - FOX compared sports championships between boston and atlanta and, if you didn't see it, all you need to know is that atlanta has 1 championship ever (shoutout to the 1995 braves) and boston has won plenty. the 1st half of the game was great - almost too good to be true. matt ryan and the falcons' offense continued to shine and their underrated defense held the patriots to just 3 points. enter lady gaga's halftime performance and the game turned the other way. tom brady is 1 of the quarterbacks in this league that you can never, ever count out... even if he was down 25 points (the largest super bowl deficit in his career). the patriots slowly started a comeback and a 19-point 4th quarter led to the 1st overtime in super bowl history. did i mention julian edelman's catch? let's talk about that for a second. 1st of all... i still don't understand how he caught that. and 2nd... the giants' fan in me wants to believe that david tyree's helmet catch in SB 42 was still a better catch but i am honestly not even sure. julio jones started off with the impressive in-bounds catch that could've been the play of the game until edelman's so-called tyree 2.0. in the end, we did see some super bowl history... just not the history i personally wanted to see. tom brady proved that he really is the greatest of all time - it unfortunately can't be up for debate with his 5 SB wins. he and head coach bill belichick are the top coach-QB duo in the league. the best part in all of this? shoving the lombardi trophy in commissioner roger goodell's face after the infamous deflate gate. that's a whole other story - i, for one, supported deflate gate - but goodell deserves some sort of backlash, right? okay... enough talking about brady and the patriots. eli manning is the only other active player on the list of most SB wins by a QB... and let's not forget who handed brady his only 2 SB losses. |
